Island stories
Since our foundation in 2004 Island Offshore has built up a fleet of 20 vessels with almost a thousand people working as crew. Get to know our vessels and the people working on board them!
On April 27, 2004, we took over the ISM responsibility for MV Island Frontier, marking the beginning of what has now become twenty years of development, innovation, ups and downs, unity, cooperation, joy, and pride for all the employees who have been part of Island Offshore during these years. We have much to be grateful for!
The CSOV vessel Island Diligence just completed an impressive winter campaign with busy days on Vattenfall’s Kriegers Flak windfarm in the Baltic Sea, supporting Global Offshore’s cable installation works at the 72-turbine site. Operations were ongoing day and night, involving gangway operations and crane work around the clock. Since the contract commenced in August 2020, we have had 8822 crossings on the Uptime-gangway and 1800 connections to the windmill TP.
Yet a milestone is reached at the Johan Castberg development in the Barents Sea. An anchor system of enormous dimensions is currently being deployed at the oilfield, and Island Victory is chartered for the job. This is one of the most comprehensive anchoring projects globally in 2020; preparing for the arrival of a floating production storage and offloading unit (FPSO) which will be processing and storing oil from the 30 wells on the seabed when the production starts in 2022.
Island Victory is currently working for Ocean Installer in the Barents Sea installing two subsea frames called Module L at the Askeladd field. This is so far the heaviest lift ever performed by an Island Offshore vessel, with a load of 175.2 tonnes (!) in the crane hook.
