Island Offshore celebrating 20 years as a shipping company
This year, Island Offshore Management AS proudly commemorates a significant milestone: Twenty years since the establishment of our own shipping company!
On April 27, 2004, we took over the ISM responsibility for MV Island Frontier, marking the beginning of what has now become twenty years of development, innovation, ups and downs, unity, cooperation, joy, and pride for all the employees who have been part of Island Offshore during these years. We have much to be grateful for!
In 2004, the Ulstein family had been co-owners of several ships operated by other shipping companies for many years; however, these projects had been terminated in the period before and after the delivery of Island Frontier. As the first ship built by DNV's rules for Ship-Shaped Well Intervention Units and NMD's requirements for Mobile Offshore Units, Island Frontier of UT 737 L design received significant attention in the media upon delivery.
The ideas and thoughts behind this project have propelled the company forward and inspired many other vessels that have since joined the fleet. We are very proud that Island Frontier is still part of our fleet.
"We like to think that we are focused on innovation and entrepreneurship and that this has been fully demonstrated through twenty years as an active and innovative driving force among offshore shipping companies," says CEO Tommy Walaunet.
On Friday, April 26, 2024, we raised the Norwegian flag before celebrating with cake at the headquarters and on board all the ships of Island Offshore.
