Co-training with Equinor

Island Clipper was awarded a three-year contract with Equinor as a combined walk-to-work and supply vessel earlier this year. To prepare for the job bridge crew and gangway operators from Island Clipper took part in co-training with Equinor at our in-house training centre Vestbris. Island Clipper will be performing walk-to-work operations at Oseberg H next year, and to make the training authentic Kristian V. Stedje from Equinor’s Oseberg Field Centre participated. He will be one of the crane operators at Oseberg H when it is manned.

Co-training is important to create a common understanding of how to interact safely and efficiently when working together offshore. After a couple of presentations, it was time to test their knowledge and experience in the simulator. Course supervisor Ståle Starheim from Equinor exposed the participants to different kinds of scenarios solved by good communication between the parties. Simulator training in advance of an operation is an important contribution to ensure a preparedness of crew and safe operations.
