Health and safety policy
Island Offshore will endeavour to promote and maintain a safe and healthy working environment on board and ashore in order to achieve no accidents and no harm to people. This includes considering health and safety factors in the design, construction and operation of all plant, machinery and equipment. We are committed to increase the level of safety involvement with all employees on board and ashore.
Environmental policy
We are committed to protect the environment, and avoid harmful effects of pollutants and waste from our activities. Our main objective is Safe & Sustainable and evidence our commitment and desire to operate in a long-term sustainable manner.
The objective shall be achieved by:
Identifying hazards and managing these to ensure safe vessel operations
Compliance with international law and regulation
Challenging and continuously improving good seamanship
Clear strategy to develop environmentally friendly and fuel efficient vessels
Enhance learning and experience sharing across the fleet
Emergency preparedness procedures
From 2010 to 2020, the average daily CO2 emission by our fleet was reduced by 25%. Next steps call for close cooperation between stakeholders and authorities. Together we can contribute to a more sustainable use of the ocean.
We have the following long-term objectives for emission reduction:
To reduce average fleet CO2 emission by 50% in each operating mode by 2030 using 2005 as the starting reference.
To implement a bridging strategy for existing vessels enabling introduction of retrofit technology and alternative fuels as these measures become mature and available.
To only order vessels with zero emission technology from 2030 targeting carbon neutrality in each project.
